Dwight and Sally Fox Hillard Memorial Scholarship
Sally Fox Hillard (c1947) and her husband, Dwight Hillard, valued lifelong education and filled their home with books and music. Dwight owned a printing parts business and Sally taught third grade at Eastern Elementary in the Grand Rapids Public School system. Always a free spirit, Sally also took courses at Calvin Seminary, enjoyed Calvin Academic for Lifelong Learning classes, and collected children’s literature. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and support education students.
Basic criteria:
- entering sophomore, junior or senior year
- cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
- pursuing a program in elementary education
- preference will be given to students wanting to pursue a public school teaching career
- financial need as defined by government programs is not required
Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the scholarship criteria continues to be met. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
