Eastern Ave. CRC China Scholarship

Eastern Avenue Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, MI, has been blessed by many rich and meaningful contacts with China. Chinese relationships have been spurred especially by Philip Holtrop, who with his wife Marie spent several years teaching in China after retiring from teaching at Calvin. Through their influence, several Chinese students have come to Calvin University and Calvin Theological Seminary to study. This scholarship was established to offer the opportunity for more Chinese students to study at Calvin.

Basic criteria:

• entering freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year
• international student (not from North America)
• demonstrate leadership potential, academic excellence and moral character
• financial need as defined by government programs is required

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the recipient is making satisfactory academic progress. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
