Tong Family Scholarship

Dr. Joseph Tong, an alumnus of Calvin from El Monte, CA, established this scholarship to assist international students at Calvin. He and Mrs. Joy Tong are very active in promoting Christian higher education especially amount Asians.

Basic criteria:

• entering freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher for current students; prospective students must demonstrate the academic potential to be successful at Calvin
• international student
• first preference is given to students from Asia, particularly Indonesia. Students from other countries will be considered if there are not enough qualified candidates from Asian countries.
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
