William R. Kenan, Jr. Presidential Scholarship

This scholarship was established in honor of Mr. William Rand Kenan, who established the William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust in 1966, and who believed that “a good education is the most cherished gift an individual can receive.” The trust has chosen to emphasize gifts to private educational institutions, preferring to give a small number of substantial grants that can make a real difference to the institution.

Basic criteria:

• entering freshman year
• cumulative high school GPA of 3.85 or higher for incoming students; cumulative Calvin GPA of 3.50 or higher for current students
• Presidential Scholarship recipient
• preference is given to those from North Carolina
• financial need is not required

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
