Alfred and Bernice Strikwerda Family Scholarship
In appreciation for what Calvin has meant to the family of Alfred and Bernice (Bouwens) Strikwerda their family established this scholarship in their name. The scholarship honors Alfred’s many years of dedicated public service to the country, Alfred’s and Bernice’s commitment to Christian education, and their support for those with special needs, especially the handicapped and those with disabilities.
Basic criteria:
- entering freshman year
- cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher
- pursuing any field of study
- financial need as defined by government programs is required
- If the above criteria are met, preference will be given to students who are planning to or are inclined to enter fields of service such as the public sector, teaching, the Peace Corps or Teach for America, working with the handicapped or the disadvantaged, and similar areas of service
Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the scholarship criteria continues to be met. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
