Marilyn and Larry Visser Family Scholarship

Christian education has always been of utmost importance for the Marilyn and Larry Visser family. Marilyn spent nearly all of her career as a teacher and administrator at Northern Michigan Christian School (NMCS) in McBain, MI, where excellence in education is complemented with a strong emphasis on learning from a Reformed Christian perspective. The family gives thanks to God that Calvin prepared its members for a life of service and stewardship in God’s kingdom. It is the family’s desire to encourage graduates of Northern Michigan Christian School to attend Calvin.

Basic criteria:

• entering freshman year
• cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
• graduate of Northern Michigan Christian School in McBain, MI
• demonstrate leadership abilities through engagement in school, church and community organizations
• financial need is not required

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the scholarship criteria continues to be met (three years only). Renewal is subject to funding availability.
