Laurie Ellen Mervenne Nursing Scholarship

Recognizing the need for qualified nurses in the West Michigan area and beyond, Laurie Mervenne established this scholarship to encourage young men and women to pursue the field of nursing in a Christ-centered, educationally excellent environment at Calvin University. This scholarship also recognizes and honors the work of Laurie’s daughter, Gwen, a Calvin alumna who achieved her BSN degree and, upon graduation, began working in the Critical Care Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
• pursuing a nursing major
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
