William H. Van Dyke Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Mrs. Janice Van Dyke of Oak Brook, IL, in memory of her husband, William, who passed away from cancer in November of 1993. As he struggled with the disease, the events that had impacted his earlier life became fond memories. Calvin was one such influence. His love for the college and the leadership there led him to give and serve the institution where and whenever possible. His love for God, students in general, Timothy Christian Schools, and giving were all wrapped up in the meaning and memory of Bill’s life. Sharing the privilege of giving to other students the opportunity to attend a college with the Christian academic environment that Calvin is well-known for would be Bill’s greatest joy.

Basic criteria:

• entering freshman year
• cumulative high school GPA at Timothy Christian of 2.70 or higher
• senior or graduate of Timothy Christian High School in Elmhurst, IL
• candiates are not expected to be the top of their class, though they may be
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher (three years only). Renewal is subject to funding availability.
