Leonard J. and H. Elaine Hofman Music Scholarship
Elaine and Leonard Hofman were vitally involved in music during their years in high school, college and thereafter. Music has been a very important part of their ministry in the Christian Reformed Church. This scholarship is given in gratitude for God’s blessings, in faith that He will use it to assist students who desire to serve Him, and in obedience to His directive that we use the gifts we have received to glorify Him and help others.
Basic criteria:
- entering sophomore, junior, or senior year
- cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
- planning to major in music
- planning to use their musical talents in worship, with first preference given to those serving in the Christian Reformed Church
- have a record of superior achievement in music activities and have given evidence of outstanding talent and musicianship
- must take private lessons for credit in the medium in which the scholarship is granted during the year that the scholarship is used
- financial need is required
Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
