Henrietta DeLoof Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Miss Henrietta De Loof as a demonstration of her appreciation for the education she received at Calvin College. She was Calvin’s first art instructor, teaching art to students for three years from 1941-1944. Her classroom was the science lab since, at that time, any “hands on” work and instruction took place in the laboratory. This scholarship is intended to provide financial support for students who will effectively integrate the world of art into their classrooms.
Basic criteria:
- entering sophomore, junior or senior year
- pursuing any academic major
- first preference is given to future teachers who best demonstrate an interest in incorporating the world of art into his or her classroom
Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
