Mephibosheth Scholarship
Mr. Peter DeKorte of Hawthorne, New Jersey, provided Calvin College with a gift to be used to provide scholarships to students at Calvin who have disabilities. Mr. DeKorte, a successful businessman who himself had a disability, established this scholarship fund out of gratitude to God for all He had done for him. He felt that he must share some of the blessings he received from our loving God. He named this the Mephibosheth Scholarship since as he indicated, “he too has dined at the King’s table” (II Samuel 9:13).
Basic criteria:
- entering freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year

- recipients are encouraged to use the services provided by Disability Services
- financial need is considered
- first preference is for students majoring in business
