Ruth Ann Handlogten-Huisman Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship in memory of Ruth Ann Handlogten-Huisman was established by her brother Howard Handlogten and her husband Howard Huisman. Ruth Ann’s caring personality led her to a career in nursing. She was a hard-working, detail-oriented person who took great pride in her work, and is remembered by her colleagues as the one to whom they would turn for practical solutions to nursing problems. This scholarship was established to encourage students who will carry on her spirit of dedication to nursing.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
• admitted to the nursing program
• financial need is required

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the student is making satisfactory academic progress. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
