Otto J. and Adeline De Bruyn Family Education Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Mr. Otto DeBruyn in recognition of his family’s long affiliation with Calvin. Mr. DeBruyn’s desire is to assist students concerned with health and fitness issues. As life expectancy increases, quality of life issues become more important. Mr. DeBruyn’s sister, Adeline DeBruyn, later joined in funding the scholarship. Miss DeBruyn was an inspiring elementary education teacher, dedicating many years to teaching first-grade students how to love learning and begin to read.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher
• pursuing a degree in elementary education
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
