Otto, Marilyn and Adeline De Bruyn

This scholarship was established by Mr. Otto DeBruyn in recognition of his family’s long affiliation with Calvin College. Mr. DeBruyn’s father attended Calvin Seminary from 1907 to 1911. Since that time many members of the family have attended Calvin. Mr. DeBruyn’s desire is to assist students concerned with health and fitness issues. As life expectancy increases, quality of life issues become more important.

Mr. DeBruyn’s sister, Adeline DeBruyn, later joined in funding the scholarship. Miss DeBruyn was an inspiring elementary education teacher, dedicating many years to teaching first-grade students how to love learning and begin to read.
