Wayne and Marti Huizenga

Wayne Huizenga was a student at Calvin College during the 1950’s. Throughout a long and successful career of building entrepreneurial business organizations (e.g., Waste Management, Blockbuster Video, Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins, and many others), he and his wife, Marti, have maintained a strong interest in young people and have supported their educational efforts.

The Huizenga family has been especially active in philanthropic and charitable efforts throughout south Florida for many years. Because of these interests, this scholarship fund is established to assist students from south Florida (who demonstrate financial need and show exceptional academic promise and leadership potential) to attend Calvin College. Marti and Wayne, and their family, have established this scholarship in conjunction with The Campaign for Calvin College in grateful acknowledgement of the quality and character of the Christian higher education provided at Calvin College.
