Leonard and Clara Sweetman

This scholarship has been established by Dr. Leonard and Mrs. Clara Sweetman of Grand Rapids, Michigan, to support students eager for the Reformed Christian education they will receive at Calvin College. Dr. Sweetman was a professor at Calvin for many years, having retired in 1989 after 25 years of teaching at Calvin, and Mrs. Sweetman taught in the Christian schools, primarily kindergarten, during that time. Both are 1948 graduates of Calvin. The Sweetmans have ties to the Reformed churches worldwide – including Japan and South Africa.
