Howard and Betty Van Till

Howard J. and Betty L. VanTill have established this scholarship to honor the excellence of Calvin College’s Department of Physics and Astronomy in preparing students for fruitful careers in these fundamental sciences. Howard VanTill served as a Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Calvin for 31 years before his retirement in 1997. In both his teaching and his writing, Professor VanTill challenged Christian students to construct their worldviews in a way that demonstrated a high regard for what the natural sciences have learned about the universe that makes possible the rich experience of human life.
