Henrietta Ten Harmsel
Henrietta Ten Harmsel, who has retired from the English Department after teaching in it for many years and who maintains great admiration for the current department, establishes this scholarship for English majors. She selects an English major because of its significance for any profession, for a good liberal arts education, and for the potential to spread the Christian faith in a humane and articulate way. The recipients of this scholarship will be enthusiastic, possess both a love for reading and writing, and a realization of the close relationship between literature and faith.
