Families of Martin Bolt, Calvin Bolt, and Martin J. Bolt

Families of Martin Bolt, Calvin Bolt, and Martin J. Bolt

This scholarship was initially provided in memory of father and son pastors, Reverend Martin Bolt (1902-1978) and Reverend Calvin Bolt (1933-1997). Together they provided 75 years of service to the Christian Reformed Church through their ministry to congregations, leadership to education boards and denomination government, and love and support for world missions. Their work was thoughtfully supported and encouraged by Tena Bouma Bolt, who believed in this mission along with her husband and son.

Additionally, the children and grandchildren express their gratitude for Martin Bolt (Calvin professor of psychology for 38 years), Robert Bolt (Calvin professor of history for 30 years), and their sisters, Norma Tinholt and Theressa Brouwer, who by their lives and training have modeled lives of commitment and service to their Lord and Savior. It is the family’s desire to provide scholarships for Calvin students who aspire to graduate-level training with the intention of securing a faculty position in higher education.
