Sponsored by a church in Muskegon, Michigan, Attallah Amash immigrated to the United States in 1956 with almost no money or education. He worked hard re-selling goods he bought from others and eventually built up Tekton, which has been family owned and operated in Grand Rapids for decades. Tekton has hosted several Calvin College interns and currently employs many Calvin graduates. The Amash family is impressed with the capabilities and integrity of Calvin students and enjoys providing an opportunity for them to learn sound business practices from a Christian perspective.
