James L. Kempema Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Jean Kempema to honor her late husband, James L. Kempema, who had a career in electrical engineering and marketing in the avionics industry. James had a lifetime commitment to Christian education and spent many years serving as a school board member for both Grandville Christian elementary and Calvin Christian High School. This scholarship provides opportunities to engineering students, particularly those who graduated from Calvin Christian High School.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
• pursuing a degree in the engineering program
• financial need is required
• preference will be given to a graduate of Calvin Christian High School in Grandville, MI

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
