Dr. and Mrs. Harvey J. Bratt Medical and Missions Scholarship

Harvey and Fran Bratt, medical doctor and registered nurse, respectively, are both alumni of Calvin and are very grateful for the education experiences they had as students at Calvin. Both Dr. and Mrs. Bratt have had a heart for missions and have served on the mission field. Out of gratitude to God for what the He has done for them, and also in appreciation for what Calvin has meant to them, Dr. and Mrs. Bratt established this scholarship for worthy young people who plan to pursue a career in missions or mission related work.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher in their previous college work
• unquestioned Christian commitment
• intention to enter a career in missions or mission related work either within the USA or abroad
• have attended Calvin University for at least one year prior to the awarding of this scholarship
• financial need is considered

Other considerations if all of the above requirements are met:

• interest in service to the poor and needy
• have overcome educational, social, or economic barriers in pursuit of higher education

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
