Laurie Ellen Mervenne Business Graduate Studies Scholarship

As a business major at Calvin, Laurie Mervenne ‘73 was prepared for a number of rich and varied work experiences. Trained as a stockbroker, Laurie moved up the ranks from Kelly Girl to sales representative, to serving as secretary to the store superintendent at Hudson’s Department Store. She then continued into management and leadership positions at Mervenne Beverage, a distributing company that her father started from the ground up many years earlier. Laurie established this scholarship to encourage students to pursue an advanced degree in business from Calvin University.

Basic criteria:

• pursuing a master’s degree in the field of business from Calvin University
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
