forte Scholarship

Paul J. Rozeboom, P.E., and Rev. Sue A. Jager Rozeboom, Ph.D., alums of the engineering and music department respectively, established this scholarship in gratitude to God for the education they received at Calvin. Recognizing that engineers well-rounded by the arts and humanities strengthen the profession, their desire is to support an engineering student who is keen to develop an expansive Christian worldview and a broad foundation for lifelong learning. Accordingly, this scholarship is for an engineering student who cultivates their Christian liberal arts imagination at Calvin as demonstrated by enrollment in visual, performing, or literary arts courses and/or humanities courses beyond those required by the Calvin Core; and/or as demonstrated by substantive participation in the arts or humanities through Calvin’s Student Organizations.

Basic criteria:

  • entering sophomore, junior, or senior year
  • cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
  • pursuing a degree in engineering
  • financial need is not required but may be considered as a preference
  • special consideration will be given to a student who is involved in the arts or humanities in course-work or in extracurricular activities

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
