Dr. Randall and Linda Wolthuis Psychology Scholarship

Randy and Linda Wolthuis, both class of 1976, established this scholarship from a profound sense of gratitude to God for His faithfulness and abundant blessings. Linda graduated with a sociology and psychology double major. Randy graduated with a biology/chemistry major and was divinely led to the field of psychology later in his academic career. He also played basketball and baseball while at Calvin. Linda enjoyed a career with the State of Michigan, Department of Human Services, serving needy people of Kent County and later supervising a number of department staff members, including an intake staff of child protective services. Randy served in several capacities at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, directed the counseling center at Calvin University from 2000-2010, and spent the last 14 years in private practice. Their two children are former Calvin athletes and graduates of Calvin. This scholarship supports students with a heart for people and the field of psychology who intend to pursue graduate studies and eventually be in position to use their gifts and education toward the redemption of a broken world.
