Reverend Isaac and Lily Jen Memorial Scholarship

The family of Reverend Isaac and Lily Jen established this scholarship in their memory. Rev. Jen was ordained as the first Chinese minister in the Christian Reformed Church in 1955 to serve as a home missionary to the Chinese-speaking people in Chicago, IL. After three years of pastoral and evangelistic service in Chicago, Rev. and Mrs. Jen spent the next ten years as foreign missionaries in Taiwan, where he did pastoral work, seminary teaching, and radio broadcasting. After five years of health recovery and translation work, Rev. Jen became the first Chinese-language minister for the Back to God Hour (now ReFrame) in Chicago, IL. From 1973 until his retirement in 1988, Rev. and Mrs. Jen brought the Gospel to China via medium- and short-wave radio transmissions.

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the student continues to make satisfactory academic progress. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
