Dr. James A. Cook Scholarship

Dr. James Cook was a graduate of Western Michigan Christian High School and Calvin College, and a long-term supporter of Calvin College. His education at Calvin prepared him so well for his profession as a physician. In appreciation of his Calvin experience, Dr. Cook established this scholarship to provide meaningful help for students pursuing a career in the health professions who are from Western Michigan Christian High School in Muskegon, MI.

Basic criteria:

  • entering freshman year
  • cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
  • planning to pursue a health related major (pre-med, pre-dental, nursing, public health, speech pathology, etc.)
  • preference will be given to students from Western Michigan Christian High School, Muskegon, MI
  • financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the student is pursuing a health related career, a graduate of Western Michigan Christian High School and has a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
