Steensma Family Physics and Astronomy Scholarship

Dr. David Steensma and his wife Carol Roede of Wellesley, MA, established this scholarship in gratitude for the rigorous intellectual training received in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Calvin College by both David and his father, Peter Steensma. This scholarship was created in appreciation of caring and demanding Calvin faculty members including Professors Stanley Haan, David Van Baak, Albion Kromminga and John Van Zytveld. This scholarship will encourage physics majors as they pursue their studies at Calvin.

Basic criteria:

• entering sophomore, junior, or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
• physics major
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
