Larry and Earlene Baum Speech-Language Pathology Scholarship

This scholarship was funded by Larry and Earlene Baum in honor of the Calvin University Speech Pathology & Audiology program. Larry and Earlene were high school sweethearts and have been married for more than 65 years. Larry is the retired president of Hastings Fiberglass Products and enjoys classic cars and golf. In fall of 2022, Larry started receiving therapy at the Calvin Speech & Hearing Clinic and immediately became a vital part of the aphasia group and clinic community. Larry and Earlene hope this scholarship will benefit the SPAUD students working to complete the master’s program at Calvin and will enable them to pursue their dreams of helping people.

Basic criteria:

• admitted into the Calvin University Speech-Language Pathology MA Program
• entering their 5th year in the Speech-Language Pathology BA-MA program or entering their first or second year in the Speech-Language Pathology MA program after earning their undergraduate degree from another institution
• students who demonstrate financial need will receive special consideration

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
