James and Dolly (Hofman) Strikwerda Family Scholarship

James and Hildred (Dolly) Strikwerda were raised to value the importance of a Christian education, and they have passed on this belief to their own family. Dolly graduated from Calvin College and taught at Oakdale Christian School in Grand Rapids, MI. James graduated from Calvin College and University of Michigan Dental School. James and Dolly’s three children (and eleven grandchildren) have attended Christian schools and Calvin College. The Strikwerdas established this scholarship to give other students the education and spiritual opportunities that are so important to them.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• pursuing a degree in education or pursuing a pre-seminary or pre-dental major
• preference may be given to students who demonstrate the most financial need
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
