Mary Ann Rice Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Tom and Laura Starke to honor the memory of Tom’s mother, Mary Ann Rice. Mary Ann graduated from Grand Rapids Public Schools but did not have the opportunity to attend college. However, she deeply valued the education her children received from Calvin, and it is her family’s desire to encourage a student from the Grand Rapids Public school system to attend Calvin University.

Basic criteria:

• entering freshman year
• cumulative GPA of 2.80 or higher
• graduate of the Grand Rapids Public School system
• financial need is required

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is not renewable.
