Japanese Student Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Dirk and Liesl Pruis who lived in Japan for a time and developed a deep appreciation for the culture and the people of this country. It is their desire to support students from Japan who want to attend Calvin University.
Basic criteria:
- entering freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year (preference is given to prospective students)
- cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
- first preference is for a student who is a resident or citizen of Japan (regardless of nationality). If no candidates meet this criterion in a given year, students from other countries in Asia may be considered.
- demonstrate Christian service, personal character and professional promise
- financial need is considered
Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
