Ruth L. Bolt Nursing Scholarship

John and Ruth Bolt met at Calvin where Ruth was working toward her nursing degree. Ruth was an incredible caregiver and loved nursing. She was one of the first in-home caregivers in the state of Michigan. She worked in hospitals and retirement homes for many years and went on to care for the elderly in their homes. This scholarship was established in her honor and to encourage students who are studying nursing.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior year
• majoring in nursing
• financial need as defined by government programs is not required

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable for three years if the student continues to make satisfactory academic progress.
