Dr. Ward C. and Mrs. Myrna Stienstra Scholarship

Ward and Myrna Stienstra are committed to Christian education and established this scholarship with thanks to God for the influence Calvin College has had and continues to have on their lives. Professor Stienstra’s life’s work was to educate farmers, growers and the food production industry about plant diseases and management methods to supply safe, healthy plant products. This scholarship will support Calvin students who are pursuing a biology major with an emphasis on plant biology and preference will be given to those who plan to see a position in Agriculture/Crop Food Production.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
• biology major who is pursuing an emphasis on plant biology, with first preference given to a student who is pursuing a career in agriculture, crop or food production
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is not renewable for future years.
