Hollingsworth Global Development Studies Scholarship
Karen Hollingsworth and her daughters, Laura and Anna, through the KLA Samaritan Foundation have established this scholarship in order to encourage young women to understand the challenges of women in developing nations and to motivate them to become involved in supporting and addressing the needs of these vulnerable women through economic and community development.
Basic criteria:
- entering junior or senior year
- cumulative GPA of 2.80 or higher
- female
- demonstrate a heart for empowering women, especially those in the world’s developing nations; students pursuing a career in politics or foreign service do not qualify, as the focus is on investment and growth of individual or groups of women in a developing community
- financial need as defined by government programs is required
Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the scholarship criteria continues to be met. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
