John H. te Velde Memorial Scholarship
John H. te Velde was a southern Californian dairyman who supported Christian education during his life. This scholarship was established in his honor by the Artevel Foundation, of which John was a devoted member, and is maintained by the te Velde family. This scholarship is for deserving students who require financial assistance from the Ontario and Valley Christian High Schools in southern California. It is targeted toward students with potential for success in university studies and promises for growth.
Basic criteria:
- entering freshman year
- cumulative high school GPA of 2.50 or higher with potential for academic success and growth
- from Southern California having attended either Valley Christian High School in Cerritos, CA or Ontario Christian High School in Ontario, CA respectively. If a student from Valley Christian High School or Ontario Christian High School is not available, then the scholarship may be broadened to candidates from other Christian high schools in the reformed tradition from the greater southern California area
- financial need is considered
Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the recipient is making satisfactory academic progress (sophomore year only). Renewal is subject to funding availability.
