Lucas and Ann De Vries Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by Lucas and Ann De Vries in honor of Calvin University and the students of SPAUD. Lucas and Ann were married in February of 1958 and immigrated from the Netherlands in April 1958. Lucas began working for the Physical Plant department at Calvin in 1984 which he says, “was the best decision he ever made.” Lucas then worked for Calvin for close to 35 years until an injury caused him to retire. After the injury, the students from the SPAUD program at Calvin were very helpful in his treatment and recovery. Lucas and Ann hope that this scholarship will benefit SPAUD students working to complete their master’s program at Calvin and will help them complete their education and pursue their dreams of helping people.

Basic criteria:

• accepted into the Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology Program
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
