Kevin Dale De Rose Memorial Scholarship

Kevin De Rose of Palos Heights, IL, was a bright, fun-loving junior who died after being struck by a car on the East Beltline on October 27, 1989. As a result of his volunteer work at Campus Life Ministries with high school students and after a great deal of prayer and soul-searching, Kevin had changed his field of study to education. His family and friends established this scholarship to assist students who demonstrate a love for providing Christian service in non-academic areas of life, as Kevin did.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
• admitted to the teacher education program and plan to enroll full-time for both semesters of the following academic year
• demonstrate a love for providing Christian service in non-academic areas of life
• financial need is considered
• preference will be given to those planning to pursue a career teaching English at the secondary level

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
