Perseverance Scholarship
This scholarship was established to provide scholarship assistance to students with physical disabilities. The donor, who himself has physical disabilities, and his wife established this fund out of gratitude for all that God has done for them and their family, especially the impressive Christian education they received at Calvin. The scholarship is named “Perseverance” because the command in Hebrews 12:1b, “…let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us”, is especially poignant for those living with physical disabilities.
Basic criteria:
- entering freshman year (transfers may apply)
- have a physical disability likely to continue indefinitely
- have the academic ability to be admitted as a regular student
- using (or planning to use) the services provided by Disability Services
- financial need is required
- preference will be given to students whose disability makes employment during the school year less likely
Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
