Rodolfo E. Vilaro Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established to honor the life of Rodolfo E. Vilaro and his teaching career spanning 40 years. His wife, Annette Buurstra LaMaire, also worked in the educational arena as a university librarian. It is because of their love for education that she would like to establish this scholarship in Rudy’s honor to encourage students to pursue a career in teaching.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• pursuing an elementary or secondary education major
• financial need is considered
• first preference will be given to an Hispanic student

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
