Laurie Ellen Mervenne Women in Business Graduate Studies Scholarship
As a business major at Calvin, Laurie Mervenne ‘73 was prepared for a number of rich and varied work experiences. Trained as a stock broker, Laurie moved up the ranks from Kelly Girl to sales representative, to serving as secretary to the store superintendent at Hudson’s Department Store. She then continued into management and leadership positions at Mervenne Beverage, a distributing company that her father started from the ground up many years earlier. Recognizing the unique challenges women face while pursuing a career in business, Laurie established this scholarship to encourage women to pursue an advanced degree in business from Calvin University.

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
