Valk Family Scholarship

Jim (James) and Lorraine Valk both attended Calvin and met there. All their children have also attended Calvin. Three of them met their spouses at Calvin. They established this scholarship because of their love of Calvin and they want to help make Calvin affordable for future generations.

Basic criteria:

• entering sophomore, junior, or senior year or a graduate student
• majoring in accounting, education, nursing, pre-med, psychology or engineering
• from Southwest Michigan
• demonstrate or explain what part of paying for their education is their responsibility
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
