Jack Veenstra Lynden Area Scholarship

Maurice and Nell Veenstra established this scholarship in memory of their son, Jack Veenstra. Jack was both a Calvin graduate and a dedicated supporter of Calvin. He lost his life to Leukemia (AML) in 2015, after a short illness. Maurice, Nell, and their children have all graduated from Calvin. They have also had four of their eleven grandchildren graduate from Calvin. God has blessed them as a family, and it is their desire to encourage students from the Lynden area to attend Calvin University.

Basic criteria:

• entering freshman year
• from the Lynden, Washington, metropolitan area
• financial need is considered
• first preference is for a prospective student; if there are no prospective, first-year students that meet the criteria, current students may be considered

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
