Theodore C. Wagenaar Sociology Scholarship

Dr. Theodore C. Wagenaar ’70, was greatly influenced by his professors while at Calvin. His life-time study of Sociology and Anthropology as a Professor at Miami University in Ohio leads him to encourage and assist Calvin students in pursuing the field of sociology, social work or education.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
• majoring in sociology. If no sociology majors are eligible in a given year, then the scholarship is open to social work and education majors.
• financial need as defined by government programs is required

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the student makes satisfactory academic progress and continues to meet the scholarship criteria. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
