Lloyd H. De Vries Scholarship

Lloyd De Vries was a Calvin student in the mid 1960’s. To be able to attend Calvin, he saved money while in the Navy and worked while attending college to cover the costs. He is interested in assisting students who have demonstrated need for financial assistance in order to attend Calvin.

Basic criteria:

• entering freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 2.70 or higher
• demonstrate a willingness to earn some college expenses by working summers or part-time during the school year, or both
• preference is given to students from Calvary Christian Reformed Church (Lowell, MI), Maple Avenue Ministries (Holland, MI), Faith Christian Reformed Church (New Brighton, MN), Brookside Christian Reformed Church (Grand Rapids, MI), Rogers Heights Christian Reformed Church (Grand Rapids, MI), or Martin Reformed Church (Martin, MI)
• taking a reasonable college load so that the degree sought can be reached in a normal time frame, such as a B.A. in four years
• financial need is required

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the recipient maintains satisfactory academic progress. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
