Elsa Cortina Scholarship

Faculty, friends and alumni of the Spanish Department established this scholarship to honor Dr. Elsa Cortina who taught in the Spanish Department for over 30 years. Through Dr. Cortina’s leadership and vision, Calvin’s first ever semester abroad program was established in 1983 in Denia, Spain. The Elsa Cortina Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student accepted to the semester in Spain program.

Basic criteria:

• entering sophomore, junior, or senior year
• Spanish major or minor
• accepted into the Semester in Spain program
• financial need is required

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is not renewable.
