Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Scholarship

Jeremy and Michelle Louters established this scholarship to help Calvin attract and retain African American students. They want to celebrate black excellence by helping to increase Calvin’s diversity and drive more equitable outcomes within higher education. Jeremy and Michelle wish to support an African American student that has had a positive impact in their community through school, church, extracurricular activities, or community involvement.

Basic criteria:

• entering their first year
• African American
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable for one year if the student continues to make satisfactory academic progress (sophomore year only). Renewal is subject to funding availability.
