James E. Smith Scholarship

Gordon Food Service has provided Calvin College with gifts to be used to award scholarships in memory of Mr. James E. Smith. Mr. Smith was a graduate of Calvin, an active alumnus, and a long-time employee of Gordon Food Services. He passed away unexpectedly in October 1991. At the time of his death he was President of the Calvin College Oratorio Society and Director of Operations at Gordon Food Service.

Basic criteria:

• entering freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year
• financial need is not required

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
