Lawrence and Bernice Vander Ploeg Memorial Scholarship

Larry ’50 and Bernice ’50 Vander Ploeg were dedicated supporters of Christian higher education at Calvin College. Larry (aka Sam) graduated with a degree in business and went on to obtain his CPA degree from the University of Michigan. Bernice was an alum and each of their four children and their spouses, as well as several of their grandchildren either graduated from, attended or are current students at Calvin College. Through this scholarship the Vander Ploeg family now wishes to give a student pursuing a career in accounting the opportunity for a Christ-center education at Calvin University.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• accounting major
• demonstrate a strong Christian character and a heart for service
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
