Paul W. Johnson Education Scholarship

With great respect for her father, Becky and her husband, Bob Van Noord, established this scholarship for education students planning a major or minor in English or language arts. Paul Johnson loved teaching high school English, and for 35 years he made a difference in the lives of many students.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher
• majoring in the education program
• financial need is required
• preference will be given to students with the greatest financial need
• preference will also be given to those planning to pursue a career teaching English or language arts at either the elementary or secondary level

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
